Dam, Just the previews scare me already, so i never saw it and i never want to watch it. I have kids, and i don't want to think about something like that happening to my kids. Plus i live with people who have experience ghostly things and i don't want to live in fear forever....I say, don't watch it cause there are people who can handle it, and people who can't. And plus, it's based on a true story, so thats my limit, i ain't watching it. One part my sister told me about was that the girl was crawling backwards down the stairs and that just freaked me out for days. It made me not wanna go up the stairs anymore at night, because our stairs are very dark, and theres no light.

No, this is one movie that is still creepy today. Watched the new dvd version out with additional scenes not too long ago and it was freaky!!!
There are movies that I saw as a child that I have watched again that used to scare me, like Amityville Horror, and they usually are funny and I wondered what was so scary about them, but the exorcist is a classic scare fest.
If you do watch it, watch it with friends who are going to stay over night!

Well....it was not possible for me to watch in 80s as I was just a baby and not allowed to enter the theatre hall by seniors....but a couple of months ago I gave a try on DVD and frankly speaking I felt really scary just to watch the movie in my home....alone. I can easily guess what kind of atmosphere must have been in theatres in those days when you watched in. A treat in the horror films category.

yeah,it's really scary. I watched it recently and it doesn't seem to be the same where I used to have nightmares when I was a kid. Probably now you will see it as something scary but not giving you goosebumps like when we were still kids,so give it a go,it brings back memories as well as a good movie time :o)

I wouldn't watch it if I were you. Especially if it already scared you once. It's just a movie and there's no need to get over that fear. It's something that is totally acceptable to avoid. Don't put yourself through that sweetie!

Watch it with some friends, maybe in the lights. Try to connect happiness anf friendship qith the scariness of the movie and it will not scare you as much.

i watched it recently. It wasn't realistic alall compared to the films today. But if you said that it scared your in the 8o's, then it will probably only bring back your fears if you watch it again. Its completly up to you but I wouldn't watch it again since it was a pretty crap film and it is against many religions. I would say don't watch it again.
