I actually get the idea that a lot of people hate Americans - including some Americans. Why do I think so? What I read in comments from people in world news or other discussions.

Not at all. Now, the people of France, they hate Americans. Actually, a lot of people across the globe hate Americans, but I don't get that sense from the UK very much.
Why do you think that the English do hate Americans?

Hate? No...but they do feel we are loud and have no sense of respect which quite honestly a lot of us are loud in comparison of them, but we are much more respectable than most of them, we just aren't near as conservative. I have many friends from England and even dated a guy who felt these things about me and Americans and when I asked him why he dated me if he hated this about me and Americans, he said because "despite it all, I find it quite charming and rather attractive. " Poppycock!

people around the world hate Americans and thats all right because lets face it, our government has done some not-so-nice things to other countries. Hey, everyone is entitled to there opinion

I get the feeling many do not know what it's like here and form opinions based on what the media wants to convey.
I only know of it what the media shows the United States.
But in the grand scheme of things, it's just another place to live inhabited by humans, just like us.

Yes. I've lived there and while the guys hated me, the girls loved me. Basically, they hate anyone that isn't British. Nasty bunch of gits they are....
