Let's see.....Pink Floyd erupted onto the music scene more than 30 years ago with a sound that was so unique it could only be put into a class by itself. Still to this day no one has ever come close to replicating it. They are pioneers in the music industry. To compare them with Green Day is like comparing apples to oranges. I am curious as to why this is even a contemplatable question. The answer is Pink Floyd, no contest. Just my two cents.....

NO QUESTION: PInk Floyd. Green Day has their good songs but can in NO WAY be compared to Pink Floyd. There music was much more influential and long lasting, with a more unique sound and more complex instruments. I'm not insulting Green Day, but I can't help it. I love Pink Floyd.

Pink Floyd. Green Day is awesome and influential to alternative music but they can't compare to the talent and writing of Pink Floyd.

Hating to be rude right now, but what the heck made you even ask that question? No doubt about it, Pink Floyd is like God and Green Day is nothing but a speck of dirt on your shoe. Green Day sucks!, SuCKS!!!!

If you asked about Floyd and Purple or Zeppelin or Sabbath or Queen that would be a difficult question. But really do think these kids who only play some power chords on their guitars can be compared to those monsters of music? I mean, Green Day... who? The only punk band i would compare to the above are the Ramones but they come second to. Green Day have beautiful songs but i don't think that any of these can be compared to Money or Another Brick on the Wall etc.
