I've had requests lately from people wanting me to add them to my friends list but when I check out their profile they havent even bothered to give their name or say what sex they are. Do they honestly believe that anyone is going to talk with them without even the most basic of information about them? How hard is it to fill in a simple form just saying that you are male or female and that your name is such and such. Am I the only one that finds this irritating or am I taking it too much to heart. lol. Would love to know your views.

Dear oh dear, what a touchy lot you all are. I was talking about basic info like gender and name only not bank details and income. As for the idiot with the pub question if I saw someone I wouldnt have to ask their asl would I. I'd be able to guess their age, see what sex they were and know where they were. Idiot.

I know exactly what you mean. I posted a similar question the other day..... if you put some basic information on there, then I can make an informed decision, nothing just makes me think they are weird or they have something to hide.

WE can be an entirely different person in the net. Disguise and deceive.
That's why I never fully trust people online. Yeah, its a great way to meet new friends but I am still a little cautious of giving away too much info to people I haven't even met.
I've been a victim before of people who deceived their true personalities, so this time, its better to be a bit careful.

The internet is a whole different world. A place where your path may cross with many you would never meet in real time. Some are not who or what they say. Perhaps it is not stupidity or ignorance that keeps some from filling out a profile at all. Sometimes, I think the stupidity is in those who say too much.

the way animals are taken care of is incorrect concerning meat production. yet lean meats are healthful, rich in protein and amino acids. Moderation is the considerable. despite if i do no longer understand why vegans sustain animal life. are not vegans killing different lifes for his or her needs? Stripping flora of their end result? Aren`t those end result used to feed different animal life varieties? Wheat is a life form too. Cotton is a life form as nicely. you're wearing cotton daily. If flora would have a aggravating equipment and soreness receptors they'd of felt harm while amassed as nicely. So I see no sense in being a vegan or an ovo-lacto vegetarian. I only say, to be truthful to different species of this planet. enable us to end eating and fill ourselves with supplementations. See the place which will take us 4 hundred years from now

I am neither stupid nor ignorant and yet theres little in my profile - why? because people don't need to know who I am or where I am from in order for me to answer questions on Yahoo Answers. I have no particular desire to "get to know" anyone on here and therefore see no reason is giving out personal information.
If you want to get to know people online use a chat room (or better still meet people in real life).
Out of interest - if you met someone in the pub for example would you expect them to wear a placard stating their A/S/L - or would you just ask them?

That's true and I wouldn't want to talk to anyone without a little info on themselves, but some peopel are very particular about placing info about themselves on the net because they are probably scared to do so due to some of the net perverts and things like that and some people just don't want anyone to know about them at all till they talk with someone personally.

The profile is a good source of information they want you to know. If you think about it they can lie on their profile just as much as they can in any chatroom. So it does not bother me, because most of the time I don't read profiles I just talk with people.

I don't really care about a person's profile. I mean, after all - you can put any information in there, it doesn't make it true. If the person is interesting enough for me to chat with then thats enough for me. If I stay friends with them I'll find out their info, I don't need to rely on their profile for it.

Many people on the internet tend to lie.. A little. Some can't make up their minds who they want to be... And some are just in a hurry.. Take it with a grain of salt, and look at it as "weeding" the bad ones out...Take care and good luck...
