Well, if you die before the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, it is my opinion, from a Mormon point of view, that life continues on but probably at a more accelerated rate of learning. Your spirit goes to the spirit world, where you will be associating with family members and friends who have died before you. I believe that they live in houses and buildings like the best of what we have here. Your spirit will be able to keep developing talents and abilities, and when it is the right time, there will be the Resurrection and the Final Judgment. I don't know when this will all come to pass, as no one is allowed to know the time, but I think it is going to be in our lifetime, especially if you are under 40 or 35.
And by the way, there are people who have had near-death experiences. You can find books by some of them, like Betty Eadie. My dad had one as well, but I'm waiting for him to recover from a stroke enough to write what he wants to write about it. Have a happy day.

Although, who really knows, for sure?
Noone from over "there" has come back to tell their story, lol.
We all like to believe that those who've departed before us have ascended to Heaven at least that's what the Bible says & what God promised us (something atheists will beg to differ).
