There is a huge space underneath my front door. Not only can you tell if someone is home because light is visible and shadow of people walking past the door can be seen if you're walking towards the door, but a huge draft also comes under the door. What can I do to fix this problem? Is there something I can attach to the bottom of the door to get rid of that extra space? Thanks

You can go to the local hardware store or Home Depot and purchase a plastic door sweep. They have them specifically for entry doors as well as interior doors. All you have to do is cut it to length and screw it in place with the screws provided. This is not hard and should take you less than an hour.

examine the threshold, the part directly under the door when it's closed if it's a modern door there will be slotted screw heads along that section, remove the caps with a broad flat screw driver and adjust the ressessed screws to raise the 'threshold' up until the weather strip meats the top of the threshold. If it's an older door you'll have to purchase a weather strip and install it on the door just follow the instructions it's not hard.

If your space is less than an inch, you can use an adjustable door sweep. If it is more, you will have to add a shim under the door, or get a higher door saddle. Thats the thingy that goes on the floor underneath the door. That along with the sweep should solve the problem
