Terrorist is a loose title that is provided by a nation whom sugests someone or some entity has or is attempting to disrupt their social order or control through socially illegitimate means.

To understand the conflict of Hezbollah, Zionism and the Israel conflict with Palestinians needs to be re-examined. To American and Israel Hezbollah are a known terrorist organisation, but if you study up on the subject you'll find that Hezbollah actually has democratically won 14 seats in Lebanon's Civilian Parliament.

"The United States, Canada and Israel consider Hezbollah a terrorist organization, claiming that the organization initiates attacks against civilians and ideologically supports such attacks by other similar organizations.

The United Kingdom, Australia and the Netherlands officially list only the External Security Organization of Hezbollah (ESO) as a proscribed organisation.[24][25][26]

The European Union does not list Hezbollah as a 'terrorist organization',[27] but does list Imad Mugniyah,[28] who is widely believed to be heading the international branch of the Hezbollah.[citation needed]

Russia does not list Hezbollah as a terrorist organization[29], but it does list other radical Islamic Shi'a groups, such as Islamic Jihad,[30] as well as al-Qaeda which is believed to be linked with Hezbollah.[31]"

If you have seen V for Vendetta. You should i think it is a good prime example other than what is happening around the world right now of terrorism. Really pay attention to the movie or you will miss the meaning all together. Personal i think terrorism can be the slightest of hate to the most extreme of hate. If you discriminate against someone for anything i think that is some type of terrorism and in the most extreme case look at Hitler and other dictators of this world. The people of in Iraq and Afghanistan. I feel bad for them in way because those who are uneducated or being feed lies i think by bin laden. Just like the dark ages once upon a time. Till some found out what the church was doing and think the more info you put out to certain people they more informed they will get and make their own decision. take for instance over in Africa Aids is out of control why cause no one knew anything about the disease so what were people doing having intercourse with babies thinking it would get rid of it. If someone had informed them before hand it would be such a big academic issue that it is now. Luckily the word is getting out. Stop cycle stop the hate. It starts with you.

I question your definitions. I believe a terrorist is a person acting outside of official political affiliation that targets civilians for his own objectives. Israel targets terrorists even when they cowardly hide behind their own wives and children.

You mentioned that Hezbollah "captured" two soldiers. You failed to mention that this was an act of an undeclared war by a non-existent government. If I were to capture someone here we would call that kidnapping.

By the way...How much notification has Hezbollah provided about it's rocket attacks so civilians could get out of the way?

I love the question. To me, terrorists are everywhere. Everyday, driving around, people just miss hitting each other, cut each other off, shoot the finger. Minor terror I know. But also each day, each moment, someone is instilling terror into the heart and mind of a child or an animal through abuse.
Every day and every night emotional, physical and mental "bombs" are exploding in the lives and homes of families all over the world. Terrorists are everywhere.

I understand your sentiment I think. But ...

While I have serious problems with the Israeli occupation, the gov’ts treatment of Palestinian people and the extreme force it’s using in Lebanon, I have to concede that the term “terrorism” has a proscribed formal definition. And in keeping with it, Israel is using defensive force in reaction to a kidnapping of its citizens, not "terrorism" as classically defined.

Terrorism is an offensive - rather than a defensive – political act of violence. But Israel is using reactionary/defensive violence (in response to kidnapping by a vigilante group like Hizbullah, the antagonist). Note Wikipedia's def. below:

“ … Terrorism is a type of unconventional warfare designed to weaken or supplant existing political landscapes through capitulation or acquiescence, AS OPPOSED TO SUBVERSION OR DIRECT MILITARY ACTION."

I don't approve of either groups' extreme violence. But if we are being technical and not just emotional about the definition of "terrorism", Israel is acting in self-defense to a hostage situation. No matter how violent and wrong that response may be. Also consider that terrorism is widely considered an UNLAWFUL act, which fits Hizbullah's actions and not the Israeli gov'ts.

I am going to say the prescient, Bush and his minions. Why? Simple because he is responsible for Iraqi civilian deaths. He has instilled unnecessary fear in the American people. And the last "requirement" was that they destroy buildings. Well they have done quite a bit of that in Iraq and Afghanistan.
