Any pad with wings is good, they stay in place better, and provide better protection. Choose weather you use a maxi or mini/pantiliner based on how heavy your bloodflow is. They now make pads for plus size women which are great if you wear a size 14 or bigger. They are longer than other pads so you get great coverage. Tampons are a matter of personal preference. It does not matter if you are a virgin or not. If you decide to try them, use a little KY jelly before inserting, it makes it easier and more comfortable.

A heating pad is great for cramps. I use the Therma-Care heat wraps, and they will stay hot for almost 12 hours. Motrin(Ibuprophen) is better for cramps than Tylenol. Midol and Pamprin are okay, but one of those has caffeine in it, which you should avoid during your period. Try to stay away from caffeinated drinks like sodas and coffe for about a week before you get your period. Crazy as it sounds, exercise is great for releiving cramps. Go for a brisk walk or bike ride or jog, and it will make a huge difference, I promise. I HATE excersise, but it really helps when you have your period.

It took me a long time to find out what pad i like the most u need to experiment with them i use a thin one it works best for me but i also use a tampon i use pads to sleep in SO a thin one prob. would not be best for u if u don't use tampons....just try different brands and see what one u like the best....for cramps use midol and a hot bath and exercise sometimes helps u may not feel like doing it lol but for some women it helps....as for the category Ur fine in teen and preteen this is a normal teen question it could also work in women's health gl Hun and take care

Pads are terrible and I only used them for my first period. Tampons are so much better, and contrary to another person's answer on here, it doesn't matter if you are a virgin or not in order to use them. They have easy directions with them and have pictures in the directions. Pads are so messy and you are aware you are having your period the whole time. Use midol and or Motrin (you can take them both at the same time) (for extreme pain you can take both).

always is a good brand, if you just starting then go with the levels of your flow and use a pantyliner, then a pad, as for cramps drink plenty of water. watch you intake of salt and caffine, I like pamprin.......don't take hot baths because it's not good for your cramps at all, or you body while you have your period......and keep your lower back warm not hot but warm enough so it doesn't hurt................
