Since when was the media on top of everything? I remember at the height of hurricane Katrina seeing all the news networks showing humorous footage of their anchors being blown around by the winds, almost enjoying themselves. All of the sudden when the news took the darker turn, these playful anchors all got reigned in.

I should become part of the media.... heck, I would become rich quick! I may hate a lot of the stuff they say is "cool" but at least I will have the money to start a Record Label and bring back Rock Music :)

Would you rather live with your head in the sand, oblivious to everything? Freedom of the Press...it's in the constitution, and it works. We have a right to be informed; sure, they go overboard on sensational stories, but it is what the vox populi demand.
