Garlic is a good way to lower your blood pressure naturally. I believe that fresh garlic is better than the heat treated pills because you loose the beneficial properties by the processing garlic into pills, but I have had people tell me that Garlique is the best pill to take.
Fresh minced garlic in a jar is easy to use and since my husband has had a heart attack in the past, I use it in cooking alot. At least two tsp. in a dish. Everyone loves my cooking so it doesn't bother anyone. His Dr. is happy with his blood pressure readings.
Switch to olive oil for all cooking and canola oil for baking that needs it. Don't fry anything in more than a few tablespoons of oil. You don't need it and a lid on it will steam it to perfection.
Also lose weight if you are over weight, it lowers your blood pressure just by doing mild exercise like walking every day and by eating more- less fatty foods and more vegetables. A good rule of thumb is the more time it takes to cook and prepare the food, the more healthy it is for you, and raw vegetables come into mind on that saying. Stress will kill you faster than the food, de-stress your life and learn to say No to the people that are part of the problem!! Good luck and stay healthy!

There's a LOT you can do, to lower your blood pressure, naturally, and safely. You can start by snacking on at least one or two stalks of celery, each day; Celery is one of nature's best known methods for controlling high blood pressure. There are also some products available at most health food stores, that also work fast, and are made from all natural ingredients. The two that I am most familiar with are "Pressure-FX" and "Pres-Assure" although I'm not sure about the spelling. If your arteries are clogged with "plaque" you can safely and quickly reverse years of build up with an enzyme called "Serrapeptase". All of these products are safe, affordable, and they WORK! Just do a little shopping on the internet, or pay a visit to your local health food store. (Try the independently owned stores, first, as the big "chains" such as "Hi-Health" and "GNC" don't always carry the wide variety that the smaller stores have.) Also, it would be a good idea to spend an extra dollar to get "organic" celery, as the pesticides and herbicides present in regular produce can actually cause increased blood pressure in some persons, plus these chemicals used in the soil of farms CANNOT be simply "washed off". (These chemicals are absorbed up and into the produce, and can cause a lot of other serious health issues, over the long term!) If you're smart, you'll stay as far away as you can, from any and all pharmaceutical products, as ALL of them have adverse side effects.

I began taking 'flax seed oil' capsules every evening after I ate my dinner and walking every morning for 1 hour as briskly as possible. My blood pressure came down into the normal range. Before my BP averaged 148/92. Now it averages 128/84.

I also eat a vegetarian diet with fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains and some dairy, with lots of soy products. I eat fish and seafood maybe once a month.

Garlic is not at all the right herb for lowering the blood pressure. Blood pressure is due to excessive hot ( imbalance in thermal energy and Kinetic energy) according to Ayurveda. So Garlic is not at all recommended. Cooler herbs like Aloe vera juice, Amla Juice, Herbal like Terminalia arjuna are very very beneficial for blood pressure. Herbal tea made up of Arjun tree bark can be very useful. try to find out Arjun tea on net.

Try not to stress as much, get a massage or something of that nature. Also try to eat heart-healthy foods like cherrios and things labeled with the "Smart choices made easy" seal. (The seal is green and it has a stick figure spreading its arms.)

Cut out ALL sodium (salt)! This means anything that has sodium in it already, not that you add to it. You really have to read the labels for this one.
