The "search for new hardware" comes up & then "select driver". I didn't add anything... worked fine yesterday.

I am using a different computer to post this question. The computer with problems is a Gateway desk top. I am running Windows ME. I tried using the driver CD that came with the comp, but that didn't work. It doesn't say which driver it is trying to install. I am the only one who uses it, so I know that nothing was installed. Thanks for the answers so far!

If you have CDs that came with your computer, try putting them in one at a time and see if the search finds what it needs. If that doesn't work, you'll need to contact the maker of your computer or take it to a shop.

That is usually a video driver problem. It may have gotten corrupted or deleted. Start it up in Safe Mode (F8) and change the setting over to standard VGA. If it boots at that point, you will need to download a new copy of your video driver for your card.
