Because even though someone younger seems to be very mature for their age- and very responsible- i still have to wonder HOW they would handle a real emergency! Like an injury with bklood? A fire? A break in??? Thats enough to stress out an adult- but someone younger- it would totally freak out and we shouldnt expect them to be able to dea with these problems like we do!

Knowing that if they get hurt... you're going to be the one to blame.

I baby sat a 10 year old girl, 7 year old boy, and 5 year old boy (all at the same time... they were brothers and sister) when I was 13. Now, if the 5 year old wants to cook his eggs in the microwave and they come out green and you wonder if you should let him eat them.... let him... he will get sick and his mom will stay home the next day so you have a day off.....
