it depend if you talk to a woman or man and in what context.
if you keep silent in asnwer of one question means that the asker should refer to your previous answer.
if he or she can not refer to any previous answers that prson should try again to understand the nature of your silence.
for example if other person is simply saying" i do not care" by his silence,just try him on another matter and if he does the same you know they exactly mean that they do not care about your talk.

In a diplomatic sense, silence means affirmation, especially dealing with a delicate question, one which may destroy a person/countries reputation if properly answered.
But in the informal sense, it could stand for each and every one of the above questions, but it primarily depends on the situation.

hahaha....you are so confused.
the silent treatment can mean anything under the sun...so the best thing you can do is just wait till the silent treatment is over and then you'll find out the answer to your question.
