It varies among women. Some lose a little, some lose a lot. If you skip a month or two, your period will be heavier.
I heard that women lose about 2 tablespoons of fluid, which I am not sure of.
If you are concerned about losing blood, you should talk with your doctor or an OB/GYN.
The fluid women lose while "Aunt Flo comes to visit" isn't all blood. It's a mixture of blood, body cells, and mucus (gross, I know but that's what's in it).

Well, if your periods are regular and you have excess blood loss, you are talking about a condition called menorrhagia. Normal blood loss is between 25 and 80 mL of blood in a seven day menstrual period. About 10% of women have excessive blood loss with their periods, which is anything over 80 mL (a little less than 3 oz). If you believe you are losing too much blood, you should talk to your ob/gyn about the blood loss, as well as dietary supplementation, as blood loss often leads to iron deficiency anemia in menstruating women.
