Most people say that it will take just as long to take it off as it took to put it on, but in reality, it depends on you and your effort.

It should not take 9 months to lose 30-40 pounds just because you gained it in 9 months. Dont let anyone tell you that.

Eat 6 small meals a day, making sure you are keeping your metabolism up by consuming something every few hours. Working out plays a big part. EFFORT. Cardio needs to be a new mom's best friend after you are well enough. Stay away from refined sugars, bad carbs, stay up on the fiber, fruit, and veggies, and you will be fine.

Take it from a diet coach. 9 months to gain, 9 months to lose is a crock. Your effort determines how long it takes to lose weight after birth.

Tough question -- it depends on your body. I have a three month old and lost all my pregnancy weight by 5 weeks...however, I've since put back on quite a few pounds AND still can't fit into a dang thing I own. Actually, I'm STILL wearing some maternity stuff. A few of my friends keep telling me to take it easy and it can take up to a year. I am watching what I eat and exercising every once in a while. I do have one friend that is very tall and didn't gain very much -- her body looked just like it did within a month. Sucks!!! :)

It takes 9 months to gain, So I would give myself just as much time to lose it.
