I don't trust the media or what people tell me and I can't witness news worthy events personally. It seems that, by design, I can't have an educated opinion about newsworthy events, because I can't trust the educator's. This is why I have no opinion about news. It seems helpless, suggestions, opinions?

What I really mean is that I don't believe what I'm told, and I can't withess world events, so I can't know about current events. There is no answer, as far as I can tell. I'm screwed.

OK, you want the truth? Here it is:

1)Follow the money- that is, if you read a science research paper find out who paid for it- then don't be suprised that this research paper supports the political position of who paid for the research.

Example: Al Gore, when he was the Vice President actually wanted to ban peoples cars and trucks. Now all of a sudden theres all these studys that support his position on global warming- and they're just in time for him to be positioned for another run as the President of the United States.

2)A very healthy skeptism of the media is a good thing- please consider that a poll demonstrated back in 1988 that 89% of all journalist identified themselfs as liberal. The Republicans realized they had to "balance" the media in their direction, so by making a bunch of "behind the secenes" purchases of key industrys they were able to influence CNN and Fox news.

3) Develop the ability to "read between the lines"- I strongly encourage you to read a few newspapers published prior to 1890 and study carefully what they wrote describing their local news- which is now our history. You might find the war description of the Civil War in newspapers to be quite helpfull.

Theres a reason why its called "Yellow Journalism"- thanks to that bastard Randolph Herst. He wanted to sell newspapers (the money) so he twisted the news to suit his needs (Greed) and he inflated the headlines ("USS MAINE SANK IN CUBA!") Sidebar: Hearst spent 10 million dollars to convert tree's to paper- he lost 10 million dollars. He wanted his money back- so he purchased a few Senators and made it illegal to make hemp paper- I mean look at all those crazie drugies smoking pot! So Hemp paper and products go by the wayside and since the need for paper still existed, Herst managed to make his money back by eliminating the competition legally.

Good Luck

No, do not trust the media, go to different sources like your local newspaper. The news media alot of times over exaggart the story. The best thing is your opinon of the matter to believe it or not! History is another thing that shows us that the media is overrated and needs more regulations against them! They have more freedom this days so any story is a good story to them!

I suggest instead of watching news, you observe your fellow humans. Open your windows and look out. In fact, turn off the media. Ask yourself why you see the things you do in the real world around you, why people are acting the way they do. Actually try to talk to people even if you think they might not agree with you, even if they are not in your race or class.

Then turn the media back on and see which versions of propagated information are closer to the reality you have observed.

Works for me.

If you are so helpless and don't trust the media, be quiet.
Don't worry about the current events.

People have different opinions, according to their thinking, about a subject. Don't you know "one mans meat is another mans poison"? If one man is killed, there are some people who support the killer also. You have to read / see the news, confirm them through other sources, and form your opinion.

The internet can help and if you can find a way of viewing the news from other countries, you can compare and form your own opinion.

Read all sides and form your own opinions.
Be honest with yourself about it, though. Don't listen to all this propaganda.
