Are you out of your mind? You put the sick prick in prison! You don't take the freaking money! Put your own blood and flesh first! Unless you are a total and utter moron, and take like what twenty bucks not to press charges? That's stupid to even ask! You would think a parent would press charges and not take the God damn money.

I would press charges and then sue for damages; that way he gets what he deserves and you can use the money to take time off and get your child the counseling he or she might need so they wont be so mentally affected in the future. But if you let this person off the hook; you're setting someone else's child to be molested by this person too.

I would tell him/her to f*&^ off and I would press charges.. Your children look up to you for everything.. What would you be teaching your child by not stepping up and doing the right thing? If you took money instead of going to the police then you should be put in jail as well..

FILE CHARGES for sure. I would be a big letdown to my child if I took the money.
Most ppl who are molested or raped feel that it was there fault. If I were to take the money, I would only reinforce those feelings and show my child that it was ok what that person did to them.
Plus, this person needs to be behind bars before he does that to some other persons child.

Definately press charges. For one, he could be doing it to other kids. And two, how is your child gonna feel when he or she finds out you took money other than punishing the person who violated them?

Not press charges. Take the money. Then kill his a$$.

I wouldn't press charges anyway. I wouldn't involve the police. His a$$ would just end up dead. I'd castrate him first, though.

Forget the money and put your child first. If you take the money chances are he will do it again to another child. Molestion, rape, and sexual abuse never go away. Your child will always remember it.
