If the scratches aren't too deep, I've found you can repair both CD's and DVD's using regular toothpaste. Put a tiny bit on a soft cloth and rub from the center outward toward the edge. It will leave the area looking foggy, but will remove minor scratches that cause skipping.

The best way to fix scratched cds is probably by trying to buffer out the part that is read.
An idea you can try is by one of those buffer machines that cd stores/other stores have to offer.
But then you'd have to have some money by then.
Another way you can try is just by fogging the part that is read and then ever so softly rubbing the bottom hem of your shirt to try and buffer it out yourself.
The problem with this is that they can't be /too/ deep, just minor and barely scratched.
If this all failed, I would suggest just buying a new cd?
That always helps.

Run some rubbing alcohol over the entire cd, then use a cotton, dry cloth to pat it dry, not rub it dry, pat it dry, then play it. I fix minds that way. Works for me. If not for you, then may I sugguest you download or purchase the cd over again.
It should work, really, it should...

actually u don't need a repair kit unless it's really bad. Just a cloth. A glass cleaning cloth, or an electonic one.
