I'd have to say that they DO feel pain .. as someone said before whenever a fish is tryin to rip off the fin off another fish they just dart away like their tails are on fire! they also swim away pretty darn quick whenever you accidentally poke em with your net since it kind of scratches their delicate surfaces

Fish were among the earliest evolved multicelluar animals, so much of their body systems are considered primitive as compared to mammals. While they can sense collisions, it is not as extreme as the 'pain' we know.
