Hiya,
I have noticed that my goldfish is gradually getting bigger and bigger compared to the other goldfish living in the same tank as the thin one is 0.7cm fat and the other is about nearly 3cm fat. It looks like its sides have swollen and one side is slightly bigger than the other. It has been like this for about half a year and it has slowly got bigger and bigger. Also 3 of its scales fell of but it has re-grown silver ones. I'm not sure if this has something to do with the size of the fish. Its acting ok, just moving a bit slower. I feed it golfish flakes and put that de-clorine stuff in the tank... um... thats a bout it. Anyone who has any idea what could be wrong please reply, thank you xx

Sometimes over feeding can cause fish to become bloated and lethargic. So watch how much you feed them.
Goldfish do lose scales now and then, it's part of life, but the lighter scales are a sign of ageing. The older the goldfish gets the lighter in colour it will become.
Here's 2 things you can do to help with the health of you goldfish.
1-put 1 tablespoon of aquarium salt per 5 GALLONS.
example: if you have a 15 gallon put in 3 tablespoons of salt. Also keep in mind that water evaporates and SALT DOES NOT.

2- make sure there is proper water filtration and water movement in the tank...if the goldfish have to swim a little more to keep with the flow of the tank it's better for there health. Exercise is good.
And do a 25% water change every 10 days.
if you remove 10 gallons of water during the water change remember to put 2 tablespoons of salt back in.

Goldfish are easy and can live a long time.
Remember aquarium SALT!!!! it does wonders for the fish.
