Take a trip to the london eye, its awesome. How long are you staying for? If you are staying for more than a week it would be worth getting a london pass as this will help you get the most out of your budget.
Also try a visit to the Natural History museum...its free and both very entertaining and educational.

Arrange for an on and off double decker bus pass for two days. It will give you a good overview and you can get off at any of the stops to check it out. Book a show at the half price tickets booths in the theater district.. Learn to use the tube (Londoners are very helpful). Ride in a cab too. That is an experience. Enjoy.

Sit down put your feet up and have a cup of tea, before un-packing and settling into your hotel room.
Then get hold of a tube map of London, (and maybe even a London guide) then look a booking tickets to a West End show. Gotta see a show if you're coming to London !

get in look at where you can go on a tube map its the best way to get around. Start with the London Eye and the Aquarium just down the river front. LEFT if you look at the London Eye with the river behind it.

Go get a zone 2 day pass for the Tube.
You can then pop up anywhere you want.
You know you need to stand infront of The Palace. :)
Kew Gardens is worth a day out.

get off the plane, train etc. Get transport to your hotel - Taxi (expensive), tube (subway), bus etc. Unpack in hotel room. Get literature about things to do. Have something to eat. Go and sightsee.

take a train to brighton and sit by the sea with a cool wine/beer...
