um......... math help.?

Question

ok so i am going into 8th grade next year and i want to take the algebra 1(1st year highschool) but i was'nt so great in math this last year........there is also prealgebra,which i'm good at but not perfect at, so what should i choose.......?

If you've been through pre-alg and did ok, then just jump feet first into algebra. The key to algebra is practice. Nobody stressed that to me in school, and I did horribly at it. Everything else came naturally to me, so I said, "why bother with homework?" It wasn't until I got to college that the prof used the term "practice". Comming from sports, it made sense.

Practice over and over and over again. Focuse on the basics. Get a jump on school, and find some info on the internet here, there are surely some places that can give you some practice problems, and get you caught up assuming you have a lot of the basic rules down.

i took algebra in the 8th grade and got an F. But i'm not saying this to scare you. I think that if you study hard and just keep up with the class, you'll do fine :) Plus, after you do solve for "x" and FOIL many times...it'll be a piece of cake. I laugh right now at how terrible i used to be in algebra...but i took it anyway, and i am now a math major at UCLA. =D

take pre-algebra. it will provide you with a more clear understanding of some of the math basics and algebraic equations.

algebra is really easy if you think of it like a puzzle.

2x = 12
x = 6 (divide 12 by two)

My sister took algebra one in 8th grade. Im going to be in 7th grade this year and im also going to do algebra one. Just try really hard and try algebra one.
