What do you think of my friends art...He created it on Photoshop.
It's a religious picture of sorts...but does not reflec the ideas of organized religion. What do you think?

This must be a portrait of Jesus, Mary Magdalene and their supposed daughter Sarah taken from the outlandish claim that Mary Magdalene had a daughter by Jesus. The painting is a beautiful work of art though. It is also very symbolic with the nail wound on Jesus' hand. The rose could symbolize virtue, or death and the next world.
In Bill Browns book 'The Da Vinci Code,' it maintains that after the crucifixion Mary Magdalene, who was pregnant, moved to France with the help of Jesus' uncle, Joseph of Arimathea. She found refuge in the Jewish community and gave birth to their daughter, Sarah.

Not bad! It is generic, nice use of color, and a popular cultural theme. Does not make you "think" or anything, but is very Catholic looking and could appeal to that type of people if made into cards or stickers or somthing.
I really hope I don't offend anyone by saying this, but I have to say that my immediate response to the picture was that it is something that I would see as decoration on Hispanic person's van or tee shirt. Maybe it is just where I live in Northern Cali. Virgin Guadalupe is really popular here. It also reminds me of those really tall religious candles that have the cool pictures on the front that look almost like a tarot card...
Anyway, design and color is looking good, there is a market for things like that, and just brushing up on those PS skills with a few tutorials might be good.

The artwork is very nicely done, though.
It reminds me of Byzantine art.
