My heartburn was horrible during my second pregnancy. Especially in the later months. My doctor suggested tums, those didnt work. Then he said try a liquid antacid such as mylanta, that didnt work. So he said it was ok to take tagament or pepcid. Those finally helped.

It is possible that it can be the cause but it usually happens as the baby gets bigger. My doctor told me I could take the low dose zantac.
