I was surfing on the internet, suddenly the screen got orange. I shut down the computer somehow, and started it again. Could this be a virus or something, or just an error?

Sounds like a memory problem. Maybe you had too many programs running and the website you opened attempted to load something large (like a background) and the screen turned the color of it. Make sure you are doing routine checkups on your computer such as defragmentation and diskcleanup once a month. Also if you are using Internet Explorer I suggest going to www.mozilla.com and downloading mozilla firefox instead because it prevents so many more cookies and bad files than Explorer does.
If the the screen problem occurs again and you have cleaned up your drive, I'd say it is either a virus or a memory problem. To fix this, make sure you backup everything you need asap and do a system restore (assuming you have wXP) to a time when you know your computer was fairly clean. Get rid of any programs you don't need.
If you find a program you don't know of or can't decide if you need it, type the program name into google and check out what it does.

Good luck!

I seems to be a adware or a spyware, there are actually more trouble than viruses(which could eaisly be removed). Well U can run some anti spyware softwares like spybot to see what's wrong with Ur pc. moreover it has been my experience that adwares and spywares are really hard to remove and ultimately U have get Ur system formatted. I hope things go right for U, bbye
