I like the gritty feel to the stories and the art, but think there is TOO MUCH being squeezed into the series at once and not enough development of individual story lines. Should the writers and editors be giving more depth to the stories or get on with the action?

I should have added that I am refering to the comic books and graphic novel versions, not the watered down, PG version on DVD.

Totally agree. I think they are trying to hard to make it look like a summer blockbuster that has alot of action, one liners, and enough sex to fit the hour and a half that you are watching it. But then what. The point of comics is the continuity and the evolution of its characters. The original characters are firmly in place with over at least 30 years behind them. To throw them all in without the neccesary origins, and comflicts to shape them, it all seems to 2-D. I think they should have kept the roster trimmed far more for at least a while till the additional characters were needed for more story lines. Plus, Millar is used to drawing in wide frame like movies, therefore having less action per page per comic. The stroy cannot progress if every page is a splash page of Cap punching a guy. Its awesome the first time, but reading it again, you find yourself flipping through it and not actually reading it.

Slow down, actually write with the characters is mind, and let the action flow through them, rather then done to them.

From watching the first movie I gathered that they didnt think through much of the character development. Captain America was the main focus. And with the second movie it looks like they did the same thing. They need to actually try to capture the characteristics from the individual comics and stories or else its gonna be horrible.

I think they are not developing on the characters enough... but then again, we should as fans already know the majority!
