Troy Smith. He can run, he has a cannon for an arm. He is surrounded by All-American talent at every position. Don't believe the Quinn hype. Notre Dame doesn't play anybody who can play defense. How did he look against Ohio State last year? Exactly.

The question of being the 'best' QB is necessarily an ambiguous one as you have to establish uniform, measurable criteria by which to compare QBs. I'm going to go ahead and base my evaluation of a QB on a combination of statistics, leadership, and how good his team is. A QB can be an excellent athlete and leader, but it's difficult to regard him as being good if he's on a sub-.500 team.

As such, I'm going to have to go with Notre Dame's Brady Quinn. He had a phenomenal junior year, breaking all sorts of school records and finishing fourth in Heisman balloting. This upcoming year, he has two dangerous receiving threats in Samardzija and Stovall which will certainly help his numbers. The Irish are also predicted to be national championship contenders which is certainly due in no small part to BQ's emergence as a top passer under the tutelage of Charlie Weiss.

The question is whether or not he can win the big game. He was instrumental in Notre Dame's upset of #3 Michigan, led the Irish to the brink of victory against top-ranked USC, and executed a methodical two-minute drill to beat Stanford and secure a BCS berth. On the other hand, he looked very shaky for the first 45 minutes of Notre Dame's OT loss to Michigan St. and was unable to produce anything of note in their Fiesta Bowl loss to Ohio St. The fact remains, however, that Brady Quinn has all the ingredients, both mental and physical, to be the best college QB next year.

I believe Brian Brohm will have the best year out of all the top QB's this year. He just keeps blossoming every year and he's one of the more accurate passers in the nation. He has a nice supporting cast, and he's only a junior and with another big season he'll be the #1 QB in the country if he returns for his senior year.

I also think JaMarcus Russell will have a pretty nice season and have LSU in championship contention. At 6'6" 250lbs he is easily the biggest and strongest QB in the country, and he also has 4.55 speed so he can elude pressure when he has to. (Steve McNair Type Guy !!) He's a junior also and with a productive injury free year he may skip his senior year and test the NFL waters. I'll be keeping a close eye out for him to see how well he does.

I'd say Troy Smith because he can throw, he can run, and he can throw on the run (something not a lot of scramblers can do) thier offense looks great they have good blocking, good rushing, and good recieveing, which will make thier offense wide open they just need to stop fumbling the ball

Ohio state has already exposed Brady Quinn they showed that he can't throw under presure. In the Fiesta bowl he didn't throw a single TD pass. He might still win the hiesman , only because he can throw all over weaker teams

After them are Chis Leak, Pat White and Drew Stanton

Brady Quinn. Last year you could see the big improvement in his game learning from Charlie Weis, and with the experience he gained last year, he will be that much better this year.
