I personally LOVE text messaging. It's such a non-obtrusive method of communication.

I can' see how some would find it a nuissance though, especially those who hate mobile phones.

You know how I hate cell phones, but...I agree with you about this being un-obtrusive. You could leave a message without bothering the person, or interrrupting what they're doing. I like that idea much better!

Hmmm...have you convinced me that cell phones are not Sartan's spawn after all?

As a mom of a teenage girl, I find it very useful. I text her when she's busy with things so as not to annoy her w/a ringing phone.

If we are disagreeing about something, it's easier to text and communicate than talk and possibly start getting out of control w/each other!

I use it to remind her of things when she's away from home, so as not to disturb her (she could be sleeping at a friend's house, or at the movies, or mall).

Very helpful, but can be expensive if you aren't careful and/or have a good plan.

it has its ups and downs. it is a nuissance when it keeps going off and you have to answer all your messages. and some replies are sometimes to complicated to be text-ed down. a call would be much simpler. but text messaging is a damn useful method of communication.

I love to text. I have some friends that only communicate through texts. I think it's a good thing to have when you are busy and don't have time for a phone conversation.

My only thing is, if you have time to sit and type all that stuff in, why not just dial the number and talk? Seems like anuissance to me. When I get one, I just call the person back.

Those who hate it r either too lazy or just hate literacy and can't be bothered to put sentences together. I think its a convenience.
