I'd start at $7 doing a job I love. If I love the job, then I'm going to be good at it. If I'm good at it, I will get promoted and then...pretty soon...I'm making $20 doing a job I love.
Does that make sense?

Because I have a family I am going to say the $20 an hour job. Some times your happiness is not what bring home the bacon.

I AM making close to $20/hr doing a job I hate. I'd never go back to $7/hr. My skills and talent are worth more than that. They worth more than $20/hr too.

I'd rather make $7 an hour- money isn't everything but happiness goes a long way.

PuntaCorvo's about got it... take the $7 job, learn all the ins and outs... then
a) work toward a promotion and earn $20/hour
b) strike out on your own (start your own business) and earn $100/hour... ;)

You can't live on $7.00 per hour unless you are somehow subsidized--either through parents, a working spouse etc. So neither choice is acceptable.
