don't you hate when you're talking to someone...and some random person jumps into the conversation?

It depends on the subject. If it's personal, and people should be smart enough to tell if they're already overhearing, then yeah, it's rude. But otherwise, some light subject, few laughs here and there, then I don't mind at all who jumps in. :)

Yes its very irritating sometimes when one is asking some serious questions with the hope of getting a realistic answer. Some bloke just intervenes and they are generally stupid coming up with a wrong answer also most of the times. But the funniest part is when some bloke jumps into a serious conversation already goin on and without hearing any head or tail of the conversation blurts out whats botherin him at that time. I believe it is more to human psychology than etiquettes.

I could careless. I have better things to do with my time than to ***** on yahoo answers about someone who butts into a conversation.

They probably just wanted to talk to you, or thought you were addressing both of them. Don't worry about. But yes, sometimes... it's a little irritating.
