Historically, red dresses have been associated with prostitution. In European countries the red dress was almost considered a "uniform" for prostitutes. In Europe there are sections designated for prostitution. These are called "red light" districts because a "red light" was used to signal whether a girl was "available" or not.

The color red is also a color that attracts attention. It stands out above almost all the other colors. Also, when a woman gets "hot", her lips turn red and her cheeks flush.

I don't think that is necessarily true. Although red is more attracting to the eye, I think the cut and style of the dress is what appeals more to men than the color.

I don't know but they seem to like the color red. Red cars, red dresses...but I don't know why.

RED is a color that the eye really notice.... its not about the dress!

I like to think because its such a powerful color. I know my husband loves it because I have black hair and it makes my skin look fabulous ( I'm pushin 38...If it makes my skin look great ... alrighty then!) Red looks good on absolutely all women. The right shade makes us all look hot!

I guess it would be because red is a provocative color.
Colors can evoke certain emotions attached to memories sometimes too.

I, personally, don't like red that much, but the colour looks good on so many women. (Like black and white does) I think it looks best on Asian women because of their silky dark hair.

red is feminen and remands wine - wine remands holy grail - holy grail represents woman.. for that uconscious reasons, a woman in red is more attaractive to men

It's about the woman wearing it, silly. Red signifies she is bold and carefree, thus more open and available.
