It depends on several factors, but usually comes down to how much you like roller coasters... and I mean really good ones.
I think Cedar point has 3 or 4 of the tallest and fastest roller coasters in the world. I prefer it because Cedar Point because it is just so amazing as compared to Six Flags... but then again, i think it has to depend on which six flags you are "over" haha.
You should visit their websites before you go for tix info and ride info. However, if you have kids, it's probably better to just goto six flags.

If you're a fan of rollercoasters, then Cedar Point is the best, but it is very expensive!
If you're not really a coaster person, you'll probably like Six Flags better. It's a better value, too, in my opinion.
Edit: I assume you're talking about the Six Flags that used to be Geauga Lake. I've never been to any other Six Flags, so I can't give you an opinion on those.

Not really a fair question...
It's like asking what's better: McDonald's or a Hardee's thickburger.
Six Flags has numerous locations, whereas Cedar Point is just one park.
I have only been to one Six Flags (St. Louis), but I've been to the Point and numerous other non-Six Flags parks; I prefer the Point by far. The staff is better, the rides are more numerous and more extreme and they have a good track record of consistent running. Also the overall experiance is more enjoyable imo.

If you have a chance to go to Cedar point, then go there.
There are more Six Flags parks, even Europe has got one.
So you most likely will get the chance again to go to a Six Flags, but maybe never get a chance again to go to Cedar.

never heard of cedar point but Six Flags Magic mountain here in California is damn GOOD
