I have a 15GB hard drive and I run XP Compaq PC, is it okay to partition it often and format?

It's one way of making sure that the information on your hard drive stays virus free. Unless you have a bad sector on the disk that will cause problems, there is nothing wrong with formatting it. Just make sure you have your current information backed up

Why would you want to partition a 15Gb hard drive?

But anyway, I think you can have as much fun formatting and partitioning as you can stand, at least until your cds wear out.

Yes. It does impose some wear on the mechanics of the drive but not that big of a deal.

yes, i have frequently formatted my drive. But you never know, you should keep your info backed up just in case

GET A BIGGER HARD DRIVE!!!! You can partition as much as you want.

Every 6 months should be more than enough......
Depending on what you are keeping on your harddrive.............
