I've often wondered that myself.
The Ten Commandments trump Genesis! Laws change, and God's law is no different!
"Thou Shalt Not Kill" is pretty cut and dried. It doesn't say "Thou Shalt Not Kill Unless In Retribution For Another Killing."
Any self-avowed Christian who supports the death penalty is a false christian, not a Christian. Period!

why do you refer to them as Christians? The word Christian comes from the name Christ. his father allowed him to be crucified on a cross. We are only following in his footsteps. At least we kill with a lethal injection. perhaps you would prefer if we followed your Savior and nailed people to a cross. Would that make you feel a lot better? You really should take a closer at you at you and yours before you criticize others.
mean while why don't you forget about killings, unless you are about to either kill or be killed, and take a look at www.fuelxfrank.myffi.biz This web site can make you a fortune. Sorry, I don't want to offend your faith by making you rich, although you could always give your riches to those less well off than you. Perhaps now I may be going a wee bit over board?!!

Not all Christians "kill all the time". . .and not all Christians support the death penalty. In fact the largest of the Christian churches--the Roman Catholic Church with over 1 billion members--has denounced the death penalty.

I don't believe that someone who has brutally murdered anyone should live. An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth....
"Thou shalt not kill" means basically thou shalt not murder in cold blood. You know just kill someone because you don't like them or just because you can....

in view that it fairly is a controversy of old testomony, you do comprehend that 'thou shalt no longer homicide' refers to human beings, nicely suited? Thou shalt no longer kill your guy or woman brethren. The Bible has no longer something against eating meat. human beings of the old testomony made sacrifices to God, utilising animals. in addition they wore sheep epidermis besides. i think there's a particular scripture the place it fairly is mentioned that we are in a position to consume animals. we're not breaking any commandments here. do no longer forget that each physique sins are equivalent, so in case you have self belief that eating meat is a sin as a results of fact it fairly is being killed, then you certainly ought to even have self belief that eating yeast contained nutrition (bread, beer) is a sin, killing bugs is sinful, and spraying insect-killing pesticide on delicious brocolli is likewise a sin. word, there is a few thing against dropping nutrition and gluttony interior the Bible :) Plus, you would be able to desire to kill maximum vegetation to consume 'em. homicide is distinctive than killing.

"Thou shalt not Kill" is old testament law given to Moses. I still applies of course, but was referring to the shedding of innocent blood.

Read Genesis 9:6. It calls for the death penalty for murderers, and it says why--in a nutshell, they took a human life, so theirs is forfeit.

because some of them believe that life is simply black or white
and that all of life's answers are in the bible. "an eye for an eye" old testament stuff. in reality, nothing is black or white, just varying degrees of grey and some people are afraid of that and afraid of looking at things from a different perspective because they might be struck down to hell when they die. it's pretty ignorant and selfish really. it's all about saving one's own *** for events that are coming up in the afterlife and not doing the most sensible things in this life.
