All the male crimnals dress in a 3 piece suit and the ladies wear a Japanese bikini

While it's always best to dress professionally, when you appear in front of a judge, dress isn't overly important. Why not? Because you're going to be judged on the facts of your case, not how you're dressed.

However, dressing up definitely makes a better first impression than dressing down. But in the end, how one dresses won't impact the judge's decision one bit.

Suit and tie and you won't go wrong.

Basically, when you go to court, you want to look respectable.

If it's something minor, like traffic court, then slacks and a collar would be sufficient.

If it's more serious than that, though, dress to the nines.

It's a serious faux pas to wear less-than-clean clothes, torn up shoes, and hats (save religious headgear).
