I am a cheerleader and every one at my school says cheerleading and dancing are for girl who can't play real sports. The t.v show Channel One always have thing about cheerleading and they tell people to call and vote on whether cheerleading is a sport or not. i think it is, because it is so hard and we have to do as much stuff as other sports do. OTHER ATHELETES LIFT WEIGHTS, BUT CHEERLEADERS LIFT ATHELETES. That's is what i think. Please answer my question.........??!!

actually cheerleading is alot more physical than some other sports. some guys say cheerleading is for girls who don't have any "sports talent" as u said, but u need to be in great shape in order to be a cheerleader. and no they dont just wave they're hands in the air they motivate other sports teams and stuff. another reason that proves it's a sport is that they have compititions just like any other sport.

School cheerleading is definitely a sport, but I would never say the same for the cheerleading in the NFL!

It takes a lot of effort. I was a cheerleader and I thought it was a sport. It is not for snobs and you can meet a lot of new friends through it. It is hard and for those of you who think it is to preppy or for snobs it isn't and I would like to see you do the jumps and kicks that cheerleaders do because it takes a lot of practice and hard work.

Cheerleading IS a sport. I'm sorry but you have to be in shape to be a top-notch cheerleader especially when you are climbing pyramids and throwing other partners in the air.

NO. CHEERLEADERS ARE LIKE FANS. THEY ARE CHEER ON THE TEAM BY DOING CHANTS AND DANCES. THEY ARE HOT BUT CHEERLEADING IS NOT A SPORT.
