Since online works can be protected by copyright laws AND eBay has a clear copyright notice on their site, I'm leaning towards suggesting that this will be a problem. However, you may want to consult with an intellectual property attorney -- it could all depend on your usage and whether or not you have explicit permission to do so.
Here's eBay's copyright notice (it's at the bottom of every page):
"Copyright © 1995-2006 eBay Inc. All Rights Reserved.Designated trademarks and brands are the property of their respective owners."
And here's what the US Copyright Office has to say about websites:
"The original authorship appearing on a website may be protected by copyright. This includes writings, artwork, photographs, and other forms of authorship protected by copyright. Procedures for registering the contents of a website may be found in Circular 66, Copyright Registration for Online Works."
Hope that helps!

If you're using copyrighted material without the copyright holders consent, it could be considered a violation of copyright law, however, as long as you're not using the screenshot to bash ebay, and as long as you keep their copyright in the screenshot, they most likely won't come after you. Not to say that's a guarantee they will leave you alone, but they won't go after you unless they have a reason to.

No. It comes under fair usage law. As long as you acknowledge the source, don't profit from using the image and don't make any remarks in respect of that image that are libellous.

Ebay will find out.....they sniff out anything that uses their name or logo, but what they need to remember is that they may well have their fancy website etc etc, they should copy protect the images to stop them being downlaoded/copied, but they don't.

It is protected as their intellectual Property, however I am sure if you write to them asking if you could give them free advertising, they would probably agree.
