The way women are portrayed in movies, magazines and all around us...we see skinny held up as being perfect. Women are supposed to be round...that's how we were designed!

yep you're right, being normal is perfectly fine but those girls who want to be skinny has been brain washed by TV and media that they have to be skinny to be beautiful - because the guys have been brainwashed too by the same media, that thin girls are better than anything else.
girls don't really have to be too skinny. sometimes it looks ugly on them but they still insist on being thin even if it makes them look older and uglier.
You ever heard of Pink's song? Stupid girls? that is actually brave of Pink since she's showing other girls to have some sense.

people in magasines are slim and they where all the nice clothes and they want to look like their favourite celebrity.... everywhere you look there are different things that tell you that you can lose weight for instance informertials they turn excerisizing which is supposed to be fun into something that "burns calories"... If celebrities can like lindsay lohan can lose 30 pounds in 3 weeks (im exagerating) then the girls might think it is possible they can do the same so they feel ashamed because they cant be that way.

i dont know for some girls who have a larger body its just not healthy to be a super small size. i think girls just need to be healthy and not worry about what size they are ar how much the scale says.. some girls may be heavier because they are more muscular!!

well, the "girls" that think they have to be too skinny r having problems with self-confidence, they don't accept themselves the way they r & that's wrong.. that may results from the media reaction, magazines, friends or family comments... but being what u r, is what matters.. u don't have to be too skinny, just be urself & love ur image & ur life would be satisfactory 4 u !!

the image potrayed by the media and society and being accepted that skinny is the norm. but for me...heck to that....i'm only concern about my health... :)
