My boyfriend has an annoying breathing problem. Sometimes he takes a few or more quick, sharp, small and noisy breathes in one after the other before breathing out, and sometimes his breathing is normal. He says he can't help it, and often doesn't realise he is doing it.
He is depressed and stressed about things, and I am wondering if there is a connection?

I've told him to see a doctor, but he's being stubborn!

I should also add that he is only like this when he is awake, from what I can tell.

My husband has the same problem. He is also depressed and stressed on things. When he was younger, he broke his nose and never got it corrected. It's slightly more on one side so that might have something to do with my husband's problem. You might try some breathing strips or maybe you can see a sleep therapist. Good luck!
