It would be minimal. There are approximately 200 million Shi'a Muslims in the world, and 75% of them live in Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan and India. Significant minorities are also found in Syria, Lebanon, and Yemen. This means that only a tiny fraction of the total number of Shi'a is left to mix in with the rest of the Muslim population worldwide.
The most recent US census (2001) estimates that there are about 1.1 million Muslims in the US. Given that figure and the above information, a good estimate for the total number of Shi'a Muslims would be in the tens of thousands, almost certainly less than 100,000.
