relationship between Lebanon and Israel?

what is the current relationship between Lebanon and Israel?
I mean, besides bad.
what happened before the conflict of 2006 that set off Lebanon/Israel?
Also, is it true that the U.S. is sending about 16 billion to Israel yearly, and if so, why?

theproblem started a lonf time ago, but this started because hexbolah crossed the border and killed and kidnapped israeli soldiers.

No, israel does NOT recieve 16 billion a year, they recieve 5 billion a year,

ITS THE PALISTINIANS THAT RECIEVE 15 BILION A YEAR IN AID FROM THE U.S. - for last two years, less before that.

Israel has been occupying south of Lebanon from 1982 till eventually 2000.they were forced to leave after the forceful attacks of Hezbollah to their troops.at the same time as they left they kept conserving a number of our lands.Hezbollah stopped to attack north of Israel yet kept firing @ the troops in our lands.there turned right into a so pronounced as truce between Israel & lebanon ..yet some provocation were made by technique of israel like their stealing of our water from our own rivers ...shifting into our lands & crossing the blue line ... its air planes continuously without supply up over our united states spying on us . diverse the lebanese needed to make peace with israel yet others hostile considering the fact that because of those provocation. yet now none in lebanon needs to placed a hand with israel.
