Dont they realise that they need to put stuff on them and then do it again a week later to kill the new born bugs?

Or dont they care just how scummy they are??

I think you will find that head lice have no preference to clean or dirty hair.

it's down to laziness
my daughter keeps coming home with them, i spend a fotune on stuff like full marks mousse and lyclear
she's totally clean of them, goes to school, and then gets them again.

to the answer below, you can get stuff free on prescription. so they have no excuse for being lazy

i am with u on this 100%. Human beings have their parasites just like other animals, and head lice are just one of many. Everybody gets em or knows a family member that was unlucky. Rich or poor they dont care. Clean or dirty they dont care. I live in a council house, and my kids caught headlice. I treated it with first marks, combed daily with conditioner, treated again 7 day later to kill emerging nits and used the hair straighteners to kill eggs that comb would not pick off (the glue they use is stronger than steel - biochemists are researching this at present for biomechanics)
The children were continually reinfected due to the negligence of neighbours who were dirty, lazy degenerates who had no clue about how to take care of their children (who were actually very nice kids). The school was aware of the problem family and Health Visitors and Social Workers were involved with these idiot parents. They were as thick as sh it, and didnt give a toss.
They are a scummy family and there are plenty scummy families out there - but not all who live in council houses are scummy. Just the stupid ones.

Stuff the chemicals, mayonnaise works the best. Work a big jar of Hellmanns into the hair, leave (so the vinegar does its job of killing the bugs) then comb out the cr@p out. The oil in the mayo prevents the eggs from clinging on. It's actually the combing-out process that's the most effective part, not the chemicals. In fact, over-use of chemical killers could mess with your child's delicate scalp.

Oh, and combing through with conditioner also works as the eggs can't cling. And tea tree oil is pretty handy for confusing and repelling the little blighters.

you've contradicted yourself cos your going on about scummy people with nits but then you say nits dont care if the hair they go on is clean or dirty, well anyway all sorts of different people find it hard getting rid of nits, especially when its a big family, so its not cos they are scummy

Actually, really scummy people don't get them in the first place. Nits like CLEAN hair, they don't wanna live in a grotty environment any more than you do, so in a way, it's a compliment to get them.

You are under a misapprhension. Head lice thrive on clean hair not dirt hair contary to popular belief. Also drop the judgemental attitude, they may be scum to you but to me they are human beings.

What ever happened to the Nit Nurse in schools, who would then discreetly give the said 'Nit Kid' a letter to take home to their parents to notify them.

BRING BACK THE NIT NURSE TO SCHOOLS !!!!
