Do bills include food? Because if they don't you're in for trouble.

I went overboard with suggestions, you can pick your top 5. Enjoy and good luck to you!

1. Get a part-time job so you fill time and make money that you can put into savings.

2. Have your friends over for movies borrowed from the library.

3. Go for walks.

4. Honor your inner child, go to a park and play!

5. Window shop and realize how worthless all the junk is that they're selling.

6. Go to a $2 movie house.

7. You can still hang out at a coffee shop or stop for a soda-pop somewhere.

8. Volunteer your talents at a place that helps people less fortunate than yourself.

9. Meditate and get to know yourself.

10. Find out who your neighbors are.

By the way, I think this is one of the better questions on here lately!

1: Public Library/Barnes & Noble/Borders: All are comfortable, air conditioned, and offer loads of free entertainment. You can listen to CD's, read books, browse magazines, chat with and meet new people, it's amazing.

2: Pet Smart, etc.: Oh what fun! Watching the animals being groomed, petting other people's pets when they bring them in, seeing all the exotic fish and rodents and birds. Wow!

3: Toys R Us, etc. They always have free video game displays, plus this is a people-watcher's dream as kids try to manipulate parents into buying the latest toy.

4: Community activites: Check your paper's "weekend" section for free movies, plays, concerts, fairs and fesitvals. Any decent-sized city will have something going on every weekend!

5: Dang, I wish I had $40 a week to spend on entertainment! I'd go to a movie AND eat out twice a week! Sadly, my budget doesn't allow for that much expendable income, which is why I suggested the other four things above.

I think the question is how to make money, then you may save it.
Ways to earn extra money.
1. Sell something you don't need, but not keepsakes. OK?
2. Sell something of a friends, negotiate the split.
3. Use the $40 to start a (no sugar) real lemonaid stand with friends near a park.
4. No luxuries for now. It's called, "Delayed gratification." , save now to build a business by investing your money.
5. Business starts with the first dollar. You don't need a million dollars to change your mind from consumer to supplier.

If you have $40. a week to spend on entertainment - you are not completely broke! If you are worried about how to spend it, then you are not enjoying it. you could join a gym and work out/ swim whenever you want to. you could go to the movies, play putt-putt. you could buy cooking ingredients you normally don't have on hand, and make something different. you could take a class!-either adult education or a craft class. If you're not going to save it, you might as well enjoy it.

$40/week is alot for entertainment... if you spend that much money each week, it could explain why you are "broke." i suggest enjoying some activities that do not cost money for awhile... and save your money.... that would be $160/month...just visit friends, hang out. enjoy company....eat dinner at each other's house...etc.. go to a museum or some place free

not be entertained, in one month you'd have $160.00, in 2 you'd have $320.00 and in 1 year you'd have $1,920.00. You could actually take a week long trip some where. But its up to you how you want to entertain youself, short 2 hour burst every week or have 168 hours of fun?

Use $20.00 for your socializing and save $20.00 for a better event.Go to the park to meet, have a picnic, play frisbee, learn to juggle, read a book.basically try to do fun and relaxing things that cost almost nothing instead of spending all your cash on 20 minutes of fun elsewhere.Go to the library, museum, art galleries, etc. All are inexpensive and give something back to you.

Spend all the money and time you have on an education. More education means better pay. Better pay means more money to save.
