In the few questions I've asked so far, the responses gained have been:

thoughtful
inflammatory
derogatory
childish
intelligent
sensitive

I admit to asking rhetorical questions...the answers really are evident ...sometimes questions reveal more about the asker, sometimes more about the respondent..

Interestingly..it's interesting to flush out hateful responses and compare them with ones that have a genuine need to respond thoughtfully...then again who's to say that a hateful answer isn't thoughtful.

I know what you mean, some times I have fun just reading answers in religion, some are so inflammatory.
If you don't agree with their point they have a liking to take your head off.
And those religious types asking questions if they don't like the answer given or the ones chosen in a vote will go back and delete the question because it not the answer they want.
Even political questions never seem to stir up so much raw anger or hate.
They can be so neofascist.
The sport or entertainment folks just like to express personal passion for their favourite what ever.

Geez people lighten up have a little irreverence, with out loosing your mind.
It's one world we are never gonna all see things the same way.
Anyway who would want that it's would be so boring if we were all automatons.
Learn to accept differing opinions and some times just agree to disagree.
Learn to laugh about it.

Some people don't know what that is, so you're going to get all sorts of responses because there are all sorts of people on here. Lots of people will think that you're speaking personally, rather than rhetorically.

But it's FUN! Rhetorical questions are generally fat, juicy targets just waiting to be taken apart.

"I am very well, thank you", says my nephew. He claims that since the question is now redundant this is a rhetorical answer.
