No.. you are still responsible for the casualties...
It's like killing 20 hostages without second thought, to catch the 1.
This is true in general.. without having to look at Israel or Lebanon.. Because in that case, Israel is the terrorist and Lebanon is acting in self defense.
Let's look back at how it started.. 2 millitary got kidnapped to be used as leverage to free lots of palestinians of which many underaged, in Israelian prisons, without any trial, like prisoners on Guantanamo (condemned by all other governments, UN and human rights organizations).
And THIS justifies Israel to bomb and kill over 900 civillians, including 4 UN obervers?
Let's take one more step back.. who is occupying who? How did this conflict start in the first place? Who took who's land.. and who is the one exercising excessive force and power.. Israel is NOT the underdog in this situation.. they are the bully, the dictators of the region, they are like dogs with rabies.. (the country that is, not all jews).
And it is condemned.. it is condemened by the whole world, EXCEPT by the USA. How can you be so self righteous?
Even the Jews here are ashamed of Israel.

Not in all cases. However, when the enemy you are fighting disguises themselves as civilians and attacks you from apartment buildings, hospitals, and places of worship. All with the aid and support of the civilian population, then calling some civilians and other militants is a distinction without a difference.
As for calling it murder its not murder. If the civilians don't separate themselves from the militants then its suicide not murder. If the militants aren't allowing the civilians to leave then it is the militants that have killed them.
Americans can't imagine being over-armed. You're never over armed or using too much fire power its incomprehensible.
I guess the terrorist have figured out that the Israelis have counter battery radar that pinpoints the origination of a missile or artillery fire before the missile even hits the ground. The terrorist and their "civilian" accomplices are suffering too much because the Israelis aren't using enough firepower.
When a missile is launched the Israelis should strike back with an artillery barrage that levels a 1 kilometer radius from the point of origin of the missile launch. That way terrorist couldn't launch a missile from a hospital and get away.
Instead of using precision guided bombs to target Hezbollah office buildings I'd recommend naplam for a 5 block radius. That way their wouldn't be a chance of any of the terrorist escaping the blast.
The entire stituation would be over and resolved within the first 72 hours with probably a lot lower loss of life than this tit for tat, slap fight the Isrealis are doing now.
You're right about the cowardly part, they seem to be more afraid of whiners than the terrorist.

This is the kind of dilemma civilized societies face. There is furore in the international press on the civilian casualties in Lebanon and Gaza.I am not justifying civilian casualties. However we must also note no one in the same press has even commented on the fighting methods employed by Hezbollah. They hide their rockets and weapons in civilian areas knowing fully well that if enemy attacks this specific area there would be civilian casualties. Iran has also employed these methods during Hostage Crisis when they dispersed the Hostages widely in different parts of country and in areas heavily populated by civilian population. In other words they want to derive undue tactical benefit during war hiding behind Geneva conventions or Human Rights. This has been going on for too long. Soon those at helm will get wise to create an international consensus to amend these laws to deal with an adversary with a terrorist background as in case of Hezbollah. Coming back to the question I would say having seen through this game being played out, Israel will or should have no qualms to strike hard even if there are civilian casualties which are unavoidable collateral damages.

It is called war, and yes that is the way a real war is fought, that is what we did in WWI and WWII back when we actually won wars.
This is what the terrorist wants, they want it so that no one can come and get them, so like cowards they hide amoung the civilian population.
But also how civilian are they, they know where the terrorist are, they know the terrorist, and know that thier home can be a target but they still stay there,
And teorrist don't wear uniforms, most of the civilians that are shown are actually the terrorists and thier families most likely.
And on the ground, they will have a war like we do in iraq, doing a police action, so why don't the poeple of Lebanon merely use thier army and turn over all the terrorist, because they don't want to. Once you start supporting the enemy, you are no longer innocent.

How do you know all the "collateral damage" made are actually innocents, since many of the people werer given the chance and warned by leaflets and telephone calls, and loudspeakers to leave the area? A well-trained Army, such as Israel's, is taking many precautions, more than any launched by the Hezbollah terrorists are, since they have seen fit to use mainly unguided rockets, randomly interspersed. The reason the Israelis are approaching this "over-armed" (in your words) is to hopefully end the threat the quickest way possible. However, airpower does not do the total job, and ground forces have to root out the enemy. It's too bad if actual innocents were killed, but it is a necessary evil of war. AND HEZBOLLAH STARTED IT, ISRAEL IS FAMOUS FOR RESPONDING TO FINISH WHAT THEY START.

No, it's not okay if you can help it. But the Hezbollah are hiding behind the populace--which is equally as bad.
In war there is a law known as the law of proportionality. If it does a greater good to unfortunately kill civilians and take out a substantial threat than it's a necessary evil. Now that being said does the proportionate killing of these civilians take out enough of a threat--in this case I say no.

America has defied international law and destroyed any real power the UN has. They bombed the hell out of and invaded two sovereign states.
Why? No one is sure.
Having done all this what can they say to Israel? At least the Israelis have a reason for wiping out Lebanon, a country next to them and full of people who hate them.
Ps:- using bombs is a very cowardly strategy and one that works well for democratically elected politicians- got to keep casualties down.

Your asking the same question as the Israelis would ask of the hezbollah supporters. So your argument has no merit by default.
So why do you support the killings of (Murders)civillians by long range bombing because combatants are hiding behind them?

"Indiscriminate" where do you get that from. If the Israel's were really killing indiscriminately, they wouldn't have any troops over there, they would just nuke the place. How come you don't ask the same questions about the Hezbo's? Is it necessary for them to purposefully target civilians? They are the one that are lobbing armaments into Israeli territory indiscriminately.

The people you call civilians are no longer civilians when they let Hezbollah hide among them while they do nothing to prevent it from happening.
Instead of civilians, they are now people who are complicit with the terrorists. Now, is it their fault? Yes, the former civilians are required to accommodate the terrorists because of their government/religion.
Until that part of the Islamic government/religion is deleted from Sharia, the former civilians are required to protect and help the terrorists any way they can. It is Islamic law.
Muslim propaganda is failing in its attempt to fool Westerners.
