You have 3 options, you may try all of it.

1) Get Internet Explorer SP1 for Win98 SE from the internet.
Update Internet Explorer.

2) Run scandisk:
Goto: Start> Programs> Accessories>System Tools> Scandisk

Select Thorough and Automatically Fix Errors options

3) Download Ad-Aware Personal Edition (Best out there)
Scan for spyware.

i would tell you to first update you explorer most likely you are running explorer 4. something to do this all you do is go to either link provided below ..... after you install you should be prompted to restart if not restart anyway and then if its been a while since you last defragged you could do that also and try deleting your cookies in the temporary Internet folder.

Do a defrag. If that doesn't work then do this, click start, run, type sfc /scannow, this will fix most common errors.

And a little heads up, if microsoft hasn't already it will be dropping support for windows 98, only windows xp SP2 and higher will get support, which includes windows updates.

ur iexplore.exe might be corrupted or some plugins are not compatible to ur browser version.
the way to solve this problem is that
>>Reinstallation of IE.
>>Upgrade ur IE ie if ur using IE 5.X then try to install IE 6.0
>>Reinstall ur Windows 98 if problem still persist.
