As long as there's nothing offensive to the public, then it's ok. No nudity or bad language and stuff like that. Don't plan on showing pornos or Pulp Fiction. Otherwise a parent with a child could complain and then you have problems.

Just that the movie can be viewed by a general audience.

(i.e. you can't show an R rated movie if the store is open to five year olds and their parents)

my brother runs a computer resale shop and always has movies running on his displays, i suppose it could be argued that he is not profiting directly from this(e.i. charging admission to see the movies), but no problems have arisen...yet...
