My first favorite band was KISS.
As a young child (I think I was 6 when I first noticed them) they were larger than life with their costumes and make up, and they played music that drove my parents NUTS!
However, I have to admit that when Peter Criss (he was my favorite "character") left the band, I quit following them as closely as I did.
Then the 80's came, and I caught wind of Bon Jovi. And when I found out they were from the same town that I was, OH MAN! It made me feel as though anyone from Jersey could "make it" in the world. OK, so fame and fortune didn't pan out for me, but that's OK, I'm happy with my life. I have a wonderful wife who loves me, a home, and plenty of friends . . . TRUE FRIENDS!

Mine would have to have been Def Leppard. I used to follow all the news and gossip about them religiously. I suppose I became a fan of theirs in 5th grade, back in 1987, because it was their album, Hysteria, which became my first cassette tape (yes I am dating myself) I ever had. Since, I used to only get one or two cassette tapes per year as gifts, until I was old enough to work, I had a lot of time to focus on just one band.
