Cow tipping is a ritual of transforming from a Teenie bopper into a teenager. It is sorta like an initiation. Another one will be snipe hunting and both must be accomplished before you can truly call yourself a teenager. I would suggest asking some of the more popular kids at school to lead you through the rituals so as it will accomplish the goal and you will get credit for doing it, on the word of the respected popular kid. Otherwise nobody will believe you. Another part of the ritual is complete confidentiality. You cannot tell anyone about it until it is time to lead them through it. Secrecy is key. A hint would be, that cows do sleep on three legs and are totally unbalanced. The key is to sneak up on them and tip them over in a way as to not awaken them. Only the upper-class people have accomplished the artform necessary and they will help you. After this you can ask the same kids about the snipe hunt. It is a little more detailed and also secret.

You sneak up on a cow late at night that is sleeping standing up and push it over (usually takes at least 2 people). Then you run because the cow starts thrashing and kicking around after hitting the ground. Sometimes they start mooing as well which alerts the bull....so you better run fast.
PS Cow tipping is bad, the cow doesn't know it is falling and can get hurt. I recommend trying to grap the bulls tail during daylight hours instead....that way the animal can react to the game and be far more interactive. Have fun!

Literally tipping cows over. Cows sleep standing up, so you, or so I've heard, (doesn't sound like much fun to me, or like its very nice to the cows), can sneak up on them and push from one side and they fall over.
Personally, I think that there are probably more useful and more fun ways to spend your time than walking around a field, stepping in cow poo and being mean to an animal.

Cow tipping is a pastime allegedly common in rural areas, in which participants sneak up on an upright sleeping cow and then push it over for amusement. Some variants of this urban legend state that the cow is then unable to get up.
One popular variant relies on a supposition that cows lean into a steady wind while asleep in order to keep balance. Based on this, the cow tipper lightly pushes against one side of the cow's torso, and gradually increases the force of push. The cow, while asleep, leans into the push and remains upright. Then when the cow tipper has all of their body weight on the cow, they jump to the side. The cow, still leaning into the ‘wind’, tips over in that direction.
(Its really fun!)

OH MY GAWD!!! I used to do that when I was young and spending time with my grandparents on the farm. Cows can fall asleep standing up, so you sneak up on them (in the dark) and push really hard and they tip over. Just be mindful of the bull and watch out for the other cows. They can get spooked at night pretty easily and you could get hurt.

Cows sleep standing up. You go out into a field at night and tip them over. It's not hard to do, but don't get caught! It can hurt the cows and will really make the farmers mad. I would reccomend not doing it. Thanks!

which as a result ... over 50% of the time the cow has to be put down (killed) because it crushes its stomach
