Yep. Legalize it and tax it. As for the crack comment about spreading aids, check the statistics in nations where Prostitution IS legal. WAY lower incidence of spreading. Why? Required regular checkups for the practicioners; something that the ladies here DON'T do, cause they DON'T have health insurance. The US is the last "civilized"nation in the world with such a backwards notion about sex. Get over it.

Prostitution s the oldest profession. I don't agree with it but I do think that it should be legalised in some form for the safety of the girls (or guys) and their customers. I believe in the Netherlands all prostitutes have to be registered and have regular health checks. That may be a good idea to enforce in other countries too. I guess that would mean the governments would be the girls pimps then but at least they wouldn't get beaten black and blue!

If prostitution were legal, the government would be able to tax it and the prostitutes would get medical coverage. They could probably start a union. Heck yes legalize it.

It already is in the desert. Haven't you heard of the Bunny ranch?
And legalizing and regulating prostitution would not make the AIDS problem worse, it would make it better. The Bunny ranch girls are tested often and have to hold a clean bill of health and a license too.

Yes, but some conditions must be applied, for example, prostitutes must be healthy and clients too, otherwise diseases will get over the world, it's very important to have healthy sexual relations, and there must be the same price for any girl, no matter if one is prettier than another one, they shouldn't use drugs and always use preservatives, and the clients have to be single, if the client is married, kick him out there! well yeah that's what i think, u know we have to follow rules in order to have a better life!

Yeah, it should. Even if it weren't, it'd still happen. Japan basically survives on prostitution, it has hell'ova booming sex trade. High class prostitution - striptease entertainment/sex in clubs for the rich, low class - on the streets, whatever - it is still prostitution.
There are different perceptions, really. Those who say STD's will be transmitted at a fairly quicker rate should prost. be legalized have obviously not heard of protection. Not everyone is as blessed as some of us to have a gf to screw as and when we want to. Demean sex? My friend, sex itself is divided into two categories - sex with one you love, and free-for-all sex. The latter is obviously living for the moment, you can't abhor people's choices. The only way you defile sex is by harming yourself or nurturing some sick obsession with unnatural sex.

This depends on who you are asking. Many people will say yes indeed and many will say of course not! This is just like asking should contracting the AIDS or any other STD be legal? Many people are trying so desperately to stop this AIDS predicament so why should something of this nature become legalized? I honestly think this should not be legal. If so, DUI's shouldn't exist and you should be able to drink when you're 15 legally.

I don't see why not. I wouldn't do it, but people are doing it all the time anyway. It would help in keeping STD's from spreading by these workers registering and getting tested as a requirement on a weekly basis and making it a law to use prophylactics and spermicides when with a customer. As well as paying taxes on profits.

Sure.. it's a job that people do. It's legal in Europe.. plus think of the sudden windfall to the National budget from the employment taxes.. it's a win-win situation for all.

From a moral and a health perspective, no it should. There are surely other ways to make quick money that do not impair one's dignity. Prostitution is just demeaning.
